Dr. Laura Udraite Vovk
Laura Udraite Vovk graduated from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 1999. She worked in general practice for more than 10 years, deepening her knowledge and gaining experience from colleagues in foreign referral clinics in Switzerland, Sweden and Canada. She attended numerous congresses and workshops, mostly focusing on endocrinology, dermatology and reproduction. She founded and managed one of the largest private clinics in Vilnius, Lithuania, of which she is still a co-owner. In 2016 Laura enrolled in a Veterinary Dermatology residency program at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany, supervised by her wonderful mentors Professor Dr. Ralf Müller and Dr. Sonya Bettenay. In 2020, she successfully passed the board certification exams of the European and American Colleges of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD/ACVD) and became the first board certified dermatologist in Lithuania. Currently Laura works as a dermatology specialist in a referral clinic (Anicura Tierklinik Haar) in Germany, as a telemedicine consultant for private clinics and for the university clinic in Lithuania. Laura also is a guest lecturer at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. She is actively involved in ECVD activities and is a member of the ECVD Examination Committee. Laura is author and co-author of multiple papers published in international peer reviewed journals. She is advising dermatology enthusiasts as a group expert in a membership based Facebook group Learnvetderm club, founded by Svetlana Belova, dipl. ECVD. She is a speaker of national and international continuing education courses and congresses in Veterinary Dermatology, lecturing in Lithuanian, English, German and Russian. In her spare time Laura enjoys time with her family, mountains, climbing, hiking, traveling, she is a fan of dog agility sport.
