Prof. David John Connolly
"I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College having intercalated at King College London. Following a short time in charity small animal practice I completed a Wellcome sponsored PhD at the Medical Research Council’s (MRC) Clinical Research Centre in transplantation biology. I was then appointed a Research Fellow in developmental biology at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research in London. I then returned to the RVC as a clinical Resident becoming an ECVIM diplomate in Veterinary Cardiology. I have remained at the RVC since and am now Professor in Veterinary Cardiology. I maintain a 50% clinic commitment in addition to a large research programme and administration/teaching duties. I have a particular interest in feline myocardial disease and have presented and published extensively on the subject. I am the author of over 70 peer reviewed publications in clinical and basic science international journals and hold a number of research grants that encompass collaborations with medical schools within the University of London and beyond."
